LYONS, Kan. — Ad Astra Radio is proud to announce Lyons High School junior Jace Grizzle as this week’s Athlete of the Week, presented by Hutchinson Community College.
The week – Grizzle capped off a remarkable season by winning the 150-pound division at the Class 3-2-1A state wrestling tournament in Hays. After winning his first three matches by pin, all in the first period, Grizzle beat Minneapolis’ Jasper Johns 4-0 to secure the state championship.
The season – Grizzle, a junior, had a perfect season, going 44-0. He won tournaments at WaKeeney, Remington, Council Grove, Halstead, Ellsworth, Hesston and Chase County. Grizzle also won the 3-2-1A regional at Southeast of Saline. Overall, Grizzle’s High School record is 111-6.
