BUHLER, Kan. — Ad Astra Radio is proud to announce Buhler High School senior Cheyann Geesling as this week’s Athlete of the Week, presented by Hutchinson Community College.
The week – Geesling capped off the year in style, winning the Class 4-3-2-1A state championship at Wichita’s Bowlero Northrock. Geesling finished with a 629 series, winning by 12. Geesling started strong by rolling a 217 in her first game, and then improved to 224 in the second before finishing with a 188. Geesling was just one of four bowlers to have two games with a score of at least 200.
The season – Geesling, a senior, was at her best in tournaments when she averaged a 180. Overall, Geesling averaged a 165 this season. She had a pair of third-place finishes, including at the 4-3-2-1A regional tournament and at the Andover Invitational. She also was crowned AVCTL Division 3 champion before winning the state title.
