Several area schools are participating in preseason events next weekend.
Hutchinson High School — The Hutchinson High School football team’s Blue and Gold scrimmage is slated for 7 p.m. Friday at Gowans Stadium.
Food trucks from Mobb Foods, Los Mariachis and Hutch Shaved Ice will be available in the west parking lot between Gowans Stadium and the Kansas Cosmosphere at 5:30 p.m.
Fall sports teams at Hutchinson High School and Hutchinson Middle School will be introduced.
There also will be youth football and HMS football scrimmages.
The HMS seventh and eighth grade football teams also scrimmaged Saturday morning at Don Michael Field.
Hutchinson Trinity — The Hutchinson Trinity Catholic High School volleyball team hosts a Jamboree at 5 p.m. Thursday in the TCHS gymnasium.
The Celtic football team participates in a Jamboree Friday night in Concordia.
Buhler — Buhler High School is holding Spirit Night activities and photographers are taking Fall sports pictures.
Halstead — Halstead High School will host its annual Big Blue Night on Thursday and the football team will participate in a Jamboree Friday at Douglass.
Sterling High School — The Sterling High School Fall Activities Preview will take place Friday, which marks one week before the first high school football games in the state of Kansas (Sept. 5).

Nickerson — Nickerson High School and Reno Valley Middle School will hold their Spirit Night activities on Thursday night at the New Gym and the football field.
