Andale’s Martin, Eck Win State Championships; Indians Take Third

SALINA, Kan. — Two Andale wrestlers claimed state championships in the Class 4A State Wrestling Championships. 

Ethan Eck, at 175 pounds, won his second consecutive state title with a win by fall at 1 minute 19 seconds over Cael Casteel of Abilene. Luke Martin claimed his state championship at 113, defeating Tonganoxie’s Brodie Starcher by a 16-8 major decision. Tristen Cox at 150 and Judd Eck at 132 both finished second. Eck dropped a 10-7 decision to Bryson Rockers of Paola, while Cox fell 9-4 to Abilene’s Murphy Randolph. 

Levi Schmidt was the other placer for Andale, taking third at 106. 

As a team, Andale finished third with 134 points, finishing behind Tonganoxie and Rose Hill.
