ANDALE, Kan. — It was a happy Winter Homecoming for Andale with a sweep over El Dorado on Friday night.
The Andale girls defeated the Lady Wildcats, 71-45, while the Andale boys defeated the Wildcats, 60-30.
In the girls game, Andale held a 13-11 lead after the first quarter and extended it to 34-17 at halftime. Andale outscored El Dorado in the second half. Four Lady Indians scored in double-figures, led by a career high 18 points from senior Mayla Spexarth. Abbi Winter added 16, Brooke Grimes tallied 15, and Addy Orth recorded a career-high 13. Andale is now 13-6 and 6-2 in AVCTL-IV play.
In the boys game, El Dorado led 3-0 but Andale scored 13 straight and never looked back, en route to a 17-5 lead after one and 32-12 at halftime. Andale led 52-21 after three quarters, triggering a running clock in the fourth quarter. Andale (15-4, 7-1) had three in double figures led by Caden Fowler with 16 points, while Hunter Grimes added 11 and Jack Horsch tallied 10.
Andale travels to Wichita Collegiate on Monday.
