Andale Rolls in District Opener of Nickerson

NICKERSON, Kan. —  The Andale football team opened up district play on a high note with a 45-3 victory over Nickerson Friday night. 

Andale scored 37 of its 45 points in the opening 12 minutes of play, which triggered a running clock for the final 36 minutes of play. Jack Horsch recorded three touchdowns of, a 9-yard run which opened up the scoring for Andale. He added a 19-yard touchdown reception from Sam Harp prior to Harp’s 35-yard interception return. Parker Lies added Andale’s second interception return to make it 28-0 with 4:14 left in the first quarter. Lane Parthemer added an 11-yard touchdown ru,n and the Indians added a safety with 24 seconds left in the opening quarter. 

Horsch added a 30-yard touchdown reception from Harp with 10:30 left in the first half. Nickerson avoided the shutout with a 27-yard field goal by Kristopher Monroe, Jr. 

Andale was held to a season-low 218 yards of total offense, but produced four turnovers. Nickerson was held to 79 yards. Horsch recorded 33 yards rushing and 49 yards receiving. Rylan Morrell led the Panthers in rushing with 41 yards on 18 carries. 

Andale (5-0) continues district play next Friday at home against Smoky Valley.
