ROSE HILL, Kan. — The Andale basketball teams capped off a perfect week on the road with a sweep over Rose Hill on Friday.
The Andale boys held off the Rockets, 60-47, while the Andale girls had no problems with the Lady Rockets, 52-10.
In the boys game, Rose Hill led 2-0 before Andale took the lead for the remainder of the evening. Andale led 17-9 after the first quarter and 33-23 at halftime. Rose Hill made a run early in the third and cut the deficit to three, but not any closer. Andale led 45-35 heading into the fourth and led by as many as 14. Caden Fowler led Andale (13-4, 5-1 AVCTL-IV) with 18 points and eight rebounds. Sam Harp added 14 and Jack Horsch tallied 11.
In the girls game, Rose Hill jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but Andale scored six straight to lead 6-4 after the first quarter. The Lady Indians led 20-9 at halftime and outscored the Lady Rockets, 32-1, in the second half. Abbi Winter led Andale (12-5, 5-1 AVCTL-IV) with 16 points while Addy Orth added 10 off the bench.
Andale hosts Wellington on Tuesday.
