HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Each month Ad Astra Radio will be recognizing a girls and boys Team of the Month, selected from area high schools. The September Boys Team of the Month goes to the Trinity Catholic Cross Country team!
The month: Trinity Catholic, the top-ranked team in Class 2A, showed that it will be one of the favorites to win the state championship. The Celtics won meets at Thomas More Prep in Hays, Wamego and at Rim Rock Farm near Lawrence. They also finished third at the Buhler Invitational, behind 3A power Southeast of Saline and 4A power Andale. Senior Jacob Lindstrom won the TMP meet, and senior John Lindstrom was second at Wamego, sixth at Buhler and fourth at Rim Rock. Every Celtic at TMP, including the Lindstroms, Ambrose Pennycuff, Cameron Kiser, Sam Pennycuff, Sam Madden and Dylan Bornholdt, finished in the top 15. The Celtics are coached by Jarod Wannamaker.
