ANDALE, Kan. — Each month Ad Astra Radio will be recognizing a girls and boys Team of the Month, selected from area high schools. The November Boys Team of the Month goes to the Andale Football team!
The month: Andale dominated the competition in Class 3A en route to its second straight Class 3A championship, which was Andale’s sixth state championship in the last seven years. The Indians won their four November games by an average of 40 points, taking down Clay Center Pratt, Rock Creek and then Topeka Hayden for the championship. Andale is racking up a lot of postseason individual awards, as quarterback Sam Harp was named Sports In Kansas’ 3A offensive player of the year and was named to the all-class Top 11. Coach Dylan Schmidt, whose record at Andale is a preposterous 110-4, was named SIK’s 3A coach of the year.
