Kansas – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced its 2025 Women’s Volleyball All-Conference selections, and two Bethany College standouts—libero Michelle Acevedo Ortiz and setter/right-side Ashlynn Gehring—have been recognized for their outstanding seasons. Acevedo Ortiz was named to the All-KCAC First Team, while Gehring earned All-KCAC Third Team honors after one of the most statistically impressive sophomore campaigns in the league.

McPherson College took home the KCAC Women’s Volleyball regular-season with a perfect 13-0 record in KCAC play, and will host the semifinals and finals of the conference championship tournament.

The Bulldogs took home three of the conference’s individual awards for the 2025 women’s volleyball season. Roxana Varela Parra earned the KCAC Women’s Volleyball Freshman of the Year honor, while Cory Cahill and Callie Houlihan took home the KCAC Women’s Volleyball Coach of the Year and Assistant Coach of the Year honors, respectively.

Oklahoma Wesleyan University took home three individual honors. Evelyn Rohrberg was named the KCAC Women’s Volleyball Player of the Year for the third consecutive season, and the KCAC Women’s Volleyball Attacker of the Year for the second consecutive season. For the third consecutive season, Michelle Acevedo Ortiz has cemented herself among the KCAC’s elite defensive specialists—this time earning a spot on the First Team All-KCAC. The junior libero delivered the strongest season of her career, finishing as the No. 1 libero in the NAIA with 6.63 digs per set. Acevedo Ortiz rewrote the Bethany record books throughout the fall, highlighted by a new career-high 57 digs in a single match, surpassing her previous personal best. She closes the season with over 1,700 career digs, concluding a career that has placed her among the most decorated liberos in program history.

Her season stat line—featuring 113 assists, 11 kills, and elite serve-receive efficiency—showcased her all-around contribution to Bethany’s lineup, while her consistency anchored one of the strongest backcourt units in the KCAC. Acevedo Ortiz’s three straight All-KCAC honors reflect her sustained excellence and her growing national reputation.

Sophomore setter/right-side Ashlynn Gehring earned All-KCAC Third Team honors following an exceptional two-way season that highlighted her unique versatility. Gehring recorded nine triple-doubles, the most in a single season in Bethany volleyball history.

Gehring finished the year averaging 4.83 assists per set4.13 digs per set, and 2.41 kills per set while hitting .191 across 23 matches. Her ability to contribute at a high level in every statistical category made her one of the KCAC’s most dynamic players. She totaled 396 assists, 339 digs, 198 kills, and 25 blocks—production rarely matched by any athlete in the conference. Whether running the offense, attacking from the right side, or stabilizing the back row, Gehring played a pivotal role in Bethany’s competitive resurgence and displayed the growth and leadership expected of a rising star in the KCAC.
