McPherson, Kansas – The McPherson Bulldogs Women’s Soccer team hosted the Evangel University Valor on Saturday morning at Brubaker Family Stadium. The Bulldogs battled to a 1-1 draw after scoring a goal in the final minutes of the match.

How it Happened
The match started with the Valor firing off a few shots early before finally finding the back of the net in the 25th minute to take a 1-0 lead. McPherson struggled to find their rhythm offensively in the first half, only getting two shots off. The Bulldogs picked up the pace offensively coming out of halftime, but still couldn’t find the equalizer until the final minutes of the match. In the 87th minute, Alyssa Hill scored off a corner kick taken by Baylee Simmelink to get her second goal of the season. Neither team could find the go-ahead goal in the final minutes, resulting in a draw for the two teams.
Goalkeeper Emily Singletary recorded four saves on the day. McPherson posted 10 shots with nine of them being on goal while Evangel had nine shots with five on goal.
