Orbie Lee Henson

Orbie Lee Henson, 87, passed away on September 15, 2026, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born on May 4,1939, in Cave Creek, Arkansas to John M. and Martha M (Greenhaw) Henson where he grew up in Cave Creek near Harrison, Arkansas.

Orbie met the love of his life Susan C. Pearce, and they were united in marriage on March 20, 1962, in Kansas City, Missouri. They were blessed with two sons, Richard Lee and Steven Wade. They lived in

Hutchinson since 1974, moving from Kansas City, Missouri.

For over 49 years, Orbie was a wool grader for Midstates Wool Growers in South Hutchinson. Retiring in 2008.

He loved fishing, hunting, and was an avid gardener. He had large gardens and enjoyed sharing his vegetable crops with his family and neighbors.

He is survived by his wife Susan of 64 years, Hutchinson; two sons, Richard L Henson (Tamra) Twin Lakes, Colorado, and Steven W. Henson (Molly) Andover, Kansas; grandchildren, Wesley Henson, Brandi Lovely, Kali Henson, and Lacey Henson; great-grandchildren, Taylor Lovely and Maryn Lovely; one sister, Mildred Chishom, Hector, Arkansas.

Orbie was in preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Megan Henson; two sisters, Bertha Magdalene and Versie Mae Canaday; four brothers, Billy Ray Henson, Earl Henson, Kenneth Henson, and Geroge Henson.

Visitation will be held from 5:30-7:30pm Monday September 21, 2026, at Buhler Mortuary 120 N. Main in Buhler, Kansas. A private family graveside service will be held at the Buhler East Cemetery.
