Richard Edwin “Dick” Anderson, 87, of Sterling, Kansas, passed away September 13, 2026, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born October 18, 1938, in Denver, Colorado, the son of Raynold and Bertha (Parker) Anderson. Dick has resided in Sterling since 2004, formerly of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and Montrose, Colorado. He graduated from Cherry Creek High School, Denver, with the class of 1957. Dick was a farmer/rancher and was in agriculture sales for many years. He was a member of the Sterling Evangelical Bible Church, Farm Bureau Board Member and Farmland Co-op Board Member both of Montrose. Dick enjoyed woodworking, horseback riding, trains, tractor pulls and traveling. He was a perfectionist in everything he had done in life. On May 16, 1959, Dick was united in marriage with Carol Neugebauer in Denver. Dick is survived by his wife, Carol Anderson of Sterling, KS; three children, Bruce Anderson and wife Karen of Mechanicsburg, PA, Phil Anderson and wife Denise of St. Louis, MO, and Chris Anderson and wife Teri of Sterling, KS; brother, Wayne Anderson and wife Sue of Elizabeth, CO; sister, Sherrill Anderson of Denver, CO; ten grandchildren, Teressa, Travis, Brandon, Makenzie, Bry, Morgyn, Collin, Erin, Hans, and Alan; and sixteen great-grandchildren. Dick is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, October 15, 2026, at Sterling Evangelical Bible Church, Sterling with Pastor Charlie Bush officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Cactus Nazarene Ministry Center or the Sterling Evangelical Bible Church (for the benevolent fund) in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
