Barton Community College’s Early Childhood Education Program will host its second annual “Wheels and Squeals” free family event for children up to eight years old from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 19, in the Technical Building parking lot at the northeast corner of campus.
Attendees can enjoy a variety of interactive activities, including booths, a petting zoo, a Touch-a-Truck experience featuring tractors, police cars, and fire trucks, a welding simulator, and birdhouse building. The first 30 families in attendance will also receive a free children’s book.
Barton Instructor and Coordinator of Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education KellyAnn Bonnell said the event continues to grow while encouraging children to learn through hands-on experiences.
