Gregory Lohkamp
1958-2026

Greg was born on May 13, 1958, in Wichita, Kansas, and was adopted by Francis and Joann (Burdick) Lohkamp. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Joann Lohkamp; his wife of nearly 34 years, Rhonda Lohkamp; his brother, Richard; his mother-in-law, Mary Katharine Williams; and his father-in-law, Ronald Williams.

He is survived by his children, Christopher (Emily) Lohkamp, Katharine (Bryce) Ratzlaff, Carolyn (Patrick) Strathman, and Cameron (Alexandra Nelson) Lohkamp; grandchildren, Grace Strathman, Emma Strathman, Hope Ratzlaff, and Baby Boy Lohkamp (expected October 2026); his partner, Karen Driskill; sisters, Shelia (Bob) Hagemann and Janet Howell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, stepchildren and grandchildren, and friends.

A true Renaissance man with a wide array of talents and interests, Greg’s career was as diverse and engaging as he was. He spent several years serving as a manufacturing supervisor for the Coleman Company before transitioning into long-term care as a nursing home administrator. Throughout his career, he overseen numerous facilities, including the Catholic Care Center, Cornerstone Ridge Plaza, and the Convent of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ. Not one to be confined to a single path, Greg also worked seasonally at Prairie Pines Christmas Tree Farm, created props for the Wichita Grand Opera, and began farming lavender in his retirement. He will be remembered for his strength, sense of humor, creative intelligence, and, above all, his steadfast kindness.

A wake service will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Colwich on Thursday, September 10, at 7:00 p.m. A memorial Mass and celebration of Greg’s life will take place on Friday, September 11, at 2:00 p.m., at Sacred Heart, Colwich. A private interment will be held at Ascension Cemetery.
