Linda Gay Phelps, 82, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away August 23, 2026, at Harry Hynes Hospice, Wichita. She was born April 10, 1944, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Cecil Scott and Helen (Truesdell) Jinks. Linda, formerly of Lyons, KS, has resided in Wichita since 2008. She graduated from Lyons High School, with the class of 1962. Linda worked for KP&L in customer service. After her retirement, Linda took care of her four youngest grandchildren from birth until they entered kindergarten. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lyons, and Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Wichita. Linda was also a member of numerous Sweet Adelines choruses over the years, including Sunflower Harmony of Topeka, Coronado Country Chorus of Lyons, and The Wichita Chorus of Wichita. She enjoyed reading, singing barbershop, and watching reruns of her favorite shows. Linda was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and always looked forward to spending time with her family. She embraced every opportunity to travel, most recently going on Caribbean and Alaskan cruises. Linda is survived by her four children, Kevin Keller and wife Tina of Meridian, ID, John Michael “Mike” Hill and wife Suzy of Wichita, KS, Cory Phelps and wife April of Wichita, KS, and Vera “Christy” Elder and husband Matt of Kansas City, MO; sister, Saundra Wood and husband Richard of The Woodlands, TX; eleven grandchildren, Mckenzie Verba, Hannah Headman, Jordyn Keller, Kylee Keller, Amanda Hill, Alexis Ortiz, Marshall Knisal, Evan Knisal, Dakota Knisal, Gavin Phelps, and Apostle B.; and five great-grandchildren. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Mike Jinks and Roger Jinks. Graveside service will be at 11:00 A.M, with a luncheon to follow Friday, August 28, 2026, at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons KS, with Dr. Cleve Kerby officiating.
