George Robert Butts, age 74, of Piqua, Kansas, passed away August 21, 2026, at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Overland Park, Kansas. George was born March 15, 1952, in Yates Center, Kansas, to John E. Butts and Etta A. (Calahan) Butts.
George attended school in Woodson County, Kansas. He and Mardetta Heckman were united in marriage on July 29, 1972, in Piqua, Kansas.
George was a farmer and he also worked many years for the Woodson County Road and Bridge Department.
George liked fishing, hunting, and being at home.
George was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and brother, Lowell Butts.
George is survived by nephew, Douglas Butts; nieces, Rebecca Butts, Cynthia Butts; and numerous friends.
Cremation will take place and no services are planned.
