Mary Louise Nash, 82, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026 in the presence of family and devoted friends. Mary Louise was born October 11, 1943 and was the daughter of Eldon Nash and Mary M. and Richard M. Zimmerman.
She graduated from St. Mary’s Cathedral High School, Wichita, Kansas in 1962. Following high school, she received her nurses aide training certificate and immediately went to work for St. Joseph Hospital before being recruited to work with young adults at Parsons State Hospital and Training Center. After working in Parsons for several years, Mary Louise returned to Via Christi Hospital where she worked for over 50 years, retiring as a Health Unit Coordinator, from their Good Shepherd Psychiatric campus in east Wichita.
Mary Louise was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Mary M. and Richard M Zimmerman; her father, Eldon Nash; her sister and brother-in-law, Jeannette M. and L. Wayne Nikkel; brother, Jimmie D. Nash of Yreka. CA; nephew, Mark C. Crane and great-niece, Michelle Grace Crane. She is survived by her son and his family, Tony (Megan) Nash, grandchildren, Sienna Grimes and Jayden Nash; sisters, Mimie M. (Les) McGuire and Renee M. (Patrick) Hanrahan; Judy Nash of Kennewick, WA; Colleen Hartman of Hastings, NE; Arliss Morgan of Big Fork, MT; brother, John Mack of Bowling Green, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
According to Mary Louise’s final wishes, there will be no formal services at this time. A celebration of life is planned for later this fall. Memorials, in Mary Louise’s name, send to Good Shepherd Hospice, 7829 E. Rockhill St #403, Wichita, KS 67206.
