Dale Irby Wedel, 65 of Inman, died early Sunday morning, July 12, 2026 at Hospice House of Reno County, Hutchinson. He was a retired polisher for Precision Industries Inc, McPherson and had been a resident of Inman for nine years, moving from McPherson.
He was born September 12, 1960 in McPherson, the son and youngest child of Irby and Lucile (Hedin) Wedel. He grew up in rural Canton and graduated from Canton-Galva High School.
Dale was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals and enjoyed attending games whenever possible. He was a huge sports enthusiast; playing softball and golf were two of his favorite things to do. He was always up for a good card game, as well. Camping with family and friends was truly pleasurable.
Dale was an all-around good guy. His happy nature and fun personality were evident by the multitude of friends he made during his lifetime. He excelled at his occupation as a polisher, a job he was truly devoted to. Most of all, Dale dearly loved his family. He will be missed greatly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Survivors include his daughters, Katrisha Henry (Nick Niemeyer) and Tiffany Wedel (Nathan Jesmore), all of Hutchinson; three sisters, Rita Ek, Hutchinson, Debbie Heitzenrater (Bill), Towanda and Karla Jones (Galen), Canton; sisters-in-law, Gail Wedel, Galva and Linda Wedel, Canton; his grandson, Tyler Henry, Hutchinson; his grandcat, Harvey Wedel and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Charles and Dennis.
Cremation has taken place and a Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Olson’s Mortuary, Canton is in charge of arrangements.
