James Clair Davis Jr.
1950-2026

James C. Davis Jr. passed away Friday, June 19, 2026 at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center. Jim was born on November 28, 1950 to James and Dorothy Davis. Jim graduated from Chanute High School, then served in the National Guard. He married Patty Stegman on September 28, 1971.
Jim was a very dedicated and hard worker. Some jobs include the refinery, Sahara Inc. hauling crude oil, Cadence Chemical at Ash Grove, and Neosho County Rock Quary. In 2000 Jim and Patty opened J & J Tires Inc. and operated it until their health declined in 2016. He was such a loving and caring man with a smile that would light up a room.  He had a way of convincing the boys to sneak him in a strawberry shake at Diversicare where he was a current resident.
Jim loved dirt track racing. In his younger years he raced modifieds. Many years later it became a family tradition; his son started racing and now his grandsons.
Jim is survived by his son Jimmie and Loris Davis, grandsons Tyler and Madison Davis, Tucker Davis and Fiancé Brooklyn Ellis, all of Chanute. Daughter Mistie (Russ) Klauman. Granddaughters, Stacy (Kyle) Bridgewater, Katelyn Klauman, great-grandson Sterling Bridgewater, son-in-law Darren Plumly.
Jim is preceded in death by his beloved wife Patty and daughter Stacie Plumly.
Cremation will take place under the direction of Countryside Funeral Home and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
