Robert “Bob” L. Weyand
1956-2026

Robert “Bob” Lee Weyand, 69, of McPherson, KS, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at his home.

Bob was born on July 29, 1956, in McPherson, KS, the son of LaVern Wayne and Virginia Mae (Willems) Weyand. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1974 and attended Salina Vo-Tech. On July 30, 1977, Bob was united in marriage to Wanda E. Whited in McPherson. This union was blessed with two children, Catherin and Christopher. Wanda passed away on February 27, 2026.

Bob was a lifelong mechanic. Before retirement, he worked as a maintenance and reliability technician at Johns Manville for 23 years. He previously had worked as a mechanic at John’s Motor Service.

Bob was a proud member of the Goodguys Rod and Custom Association, as well as several other car and model train clubs. He was a dedicated volunteer with the Abilene & Smoky Valley Railroad, serving as an engineer for many years. He had a lifelong love of automobiles and enjoyed travelling with Wanda and the kids, and recently took a trip on Route 66 with his brother, Ron. In younger years, Bob participated in drag racing and dirt track racing. Over the course of his life, Bob spent countless hours tinkering with the various cars that he owned.

Above all of his many interests and hobbies, Bob cherished his family. He found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren, who held a very special place in his heart.

He is survived by his daughter, Catherin Farrow (Daniel) of Henryetta, OK; a son, Christopher Weyand (Alex) of Elizabeth, CO; parents, LaVern & Virginia Weyand of McPherson, KS; a sister, Brenda Paul of Wichita, KS; a brother, Ron Weyand (Cherie) of Moore, OK; three grandchildren, Avery Weyand, Carly Weyand, and Daniel Farrow, Jr.; and many extended relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Eaton officiating.
