June Hiebert
1940-2026

June Hiebert, 86, of Goessel, Kansas, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026, at Bethesda Home, Goessel. She was born June 1, 1940, in Goessel, the daughter of Jacob and Bertha (Reimer) Ratzlaff.

She graduated from Goessel High School with the class of 1958.

June was a homemaker and worked for over 30 years at Bethesda Home, in the Kitchen, Laundry and Housekeeping Departments.

June was a devout Christian with a daily bible devotional and was a member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church of Goessel. She was an avid reader, and her hobbies included sewing, quilting, embroidery, and crafting.

She was united in marriage to Donald Paul Hiebert on September 11, 1960, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2021.

Survivors include her son, DeWayne (Amy) Hiebert of Middletown, Connecticut; daughter, DeVon (Craig) Abbas of Newton; four grandchildren, Derek Brown, Kaley Brown, Sophia Hiebert and Rachel Abbas; a great-granddaughter, Raevyn Abbas; three sisters, Lois (Lloyd) Musser, Newton, Diane Voth, Goessel, and Barbara (Smiley) Jost, Hesston; brothers-in-law, Norman (Marcia) Hiebert and John (Bertha) Hiebert; and two sisters-in-law, Mary (Larry) Lindeman and Bonnie (Sid) Ratzlaff, all of Goessel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; stepmother, Ruth Ratzlaff; sister, Judy Schroeder; two brothers, Ernest Pankratz and Darrell Ratzlaff.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 19, 2026, at Goessel Church, Goessel, Kansas. Graveside services will be held prior at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2026, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church Cemetery, Goessel. Friends may call from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, June 18, at Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Goessel. The family will be present from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethesda Home and sent in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home, PO Box 96, Goessel, KS 67053.
