Richard Amos Martin, Sr., 76, died Sunday, May 24, 2026 at Prairie Sunset Home, Pretty Prairie., Ks.
He was born July 16, 1949, in Springfield, Mo, the son of Walter and Opal Crites Martin. A resident of Macks Creek, Mo., previously of Pleasant Hope, Mt. Vernon, Jasper and Buffalo, all of Missouri, and Kingman, Ks, he was a mechanic for Keeling Tractor and the owner and operator of Martin’s Garage.
Richard was a member of several Pentecostal and Baptist churches; and the National Police Association.
Survivors include son Richard Amos Martin, Jr. and his wife Nettie; daughter Amanda Ruth Martin, brother Philip Martin and his wife Norma; sisters Donna Sitler, Janice Martin and Barbara Hammock; grandchildren Christian Carter, Christy Mansel, Daniel Mansel and Noah Mansel; great grand-child Grayson Schneider; and nieces and nephews Maja and Ronnie Martin, Melinda Fox, Nova and Jake Martin, Kathy Hamm and Carl and Buddy Gagna. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister June Gagna; and brothers-in-law John Sitler, Ralph Gagna and Woodrow Hammock.
Richard loved being a mechanic, working on everything from chainsaws to semi-trucks; and collected models of old cars and tractors.
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Livingston Funeral Home, 1830 N. Main St., Kingman, Ks. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 3, at Cave Springs Cemetery, 1056 RR 71, Alton, Mo 65606.
