Nella Aloy McCracken, 102 of Chanute, Kansas passed away peacefully at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
Nella was born on March 9, 1924 in Mulberry, Kansas to Oscar and Fay (Harper) Neil. She graduated from Mulberry High School in 1942. On February 2, 1946 she married Ora McCracken in Vancouver, Washington. Through the years, Nella worked at various places finally retiring from Hallmark Cards after 15 years of employment.
Nella moved to Lyndon, Kansas in 1958, then to Osage City, Kansas in 1968, then finally settling in Chanute in 1997. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Fay Neil, husband Ora McCracken, children, Jeannie Van Gotten, Neil McCracken and Patricia McAdam, sister, Rosalpha “Tuppy” Eckert, and granddaughter, Tennille McCracken.
Nella’s memory will carry on with her grandchildren, Michele Lewis, and John McCracken, stepdaughter, Trudy Parker, son in law, Corky Van Gotten, 7 step-grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Alpine Cemetery in Olivet, Kansas on Friday, May 29th at 11:00 am. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home.
