1947-2026
Jean “Rusty” Danewitz, 78, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 17, 2026. She was born in Lyons, Kansas, on August 15, 1947, to William Clinton and Juanita (Beck) Anglin.
Rusty was a homemaker in the truest sense — keeper of family traditions, master of the perfectly folded fitted sheet, and creator of cleaning solutions that somehow always involved either bleach or vinegar and water. She loved her family fiercely and never missed a chance to cheer from the sidelines at her kids’ and grandkids’ sporting events, school programs, and life’s many milestones.
On August 31, 1964, Rusty married the love of her life, David Danewitz. Together they shared over 61 wonderful years of marriage. She would smile and say, “The first 62 years were the hardest,” … until August, then she would tell you 63.
She is survived by her: husband, David; daughters, Kimberly Christine Weiser (Troy), Toni Michelle Ruebke (Chris), and Kat Danewitz, all of Hutchinson; along with a “tribe” of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tim Anglin and Dean Anglin; and sister Anita Robbins, all of Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Virginia Anglin.
Cremation has taken place.
The family invites you to grab your favorite coffee cup and join them for a Celebration of Life to be held August 15 with the time and location to be released at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to The Clayworks of Hutchinson in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main St, Hutchinson, KS, 67501. Friends may sign her book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through June 12 at Elliott Mortuary.
“Good night, sweet dreams. We love you.”
