Dorothy June Koehn, 98, passed away Tuesday, May 5 2026 in Wichita, Kansas. She was born on June 5, 1927, in Lakewood, New Jersey, the daughter of Earl Martin and Elsie Davis (Ruark) Spangler.
Dorothy was united in marriage to James G. Heslop, July 28, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1972. She then married Daniel Koehn October 24, 1986 in Buhler, preceding her in death March 16, 2021.
She worked in housekeeping for the Buhler Sunshine Home and became manager of housekeeping. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW #971 in Newton.
Dorothy is survived by her children; Susan Hughes of Goddard, Frances Heim (Eddie) of Hutchinson, Lorretta Trower of Hutchinson, Nancy Trower of Newton, Elizabeth Keazer of Newton, and Franklin Heslop of Hutchinson; daughter-in-law Geneva Spangler of Newton; and 20 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, James G. Heslop and Daniel Koehn; her son, Ray M. Spangler; her stepdaughter, Elsie Heslop; sons-in-law, Gerald Hughes, Brian Keazer, and Marc Trower; grandson, Keith Cook; granddaughter, Angela Floyd; and great-granddaughters, Anastatia Faber and Jessica Moss; sisters, Edna Peters, Louise Moore, Katherine Gibson, and Ida Foster.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 8, 2026 at Buhler Mortuary with Lenora Duerksen officiating. Burial will follow in Buhler Municipal East Cemetery, Buhler, Kansas.
