Jimmie Dale Dean, 79, of Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away May 1, 2026, at Hospice House. He was born February 12, 1947, in Picher, Oklahoma, to Rev. Floyd A. Dean and Una C. (House) Dean.

Jimmie graduated from high school in Byers, Colorado, and attended Salt City Business College, where he studied accounting. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1970.

A lifelong hard worker, Jimmie began assisting his father in a tree-trimming business as a young man. Over the years, he owned and operated several businesses, including lawn care and home remodeling, and spent much of his career working as a machinist. He retired from Cessna/Eaton Corporation. In his free time, Jimmie enjoyed gardening and cooking. He was also a gifted musician who could play multiple instruments and performed with the Ayres Express band for 15 years. Jimmie was a lifetime member of Trinity Pentecostal Church of God and was actively involved with Elm Street Chapel for many years.

On October 4, 1976, he married Cynthia Marie Brown in Miami, Oklahoma. They shared nearly 50 years of marriage.

Jimmie is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Dean of Hutchinson; son, Ronnie Pederson Jr. (Christy) of Hutchinson; daughters, Janice Anderson (Matt) of Clear Brook, Minnesota, and Michelle Howell (John) of Hutchinson; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Dean (Kris) of Hutchinson; sisters, Janie Cox (Jimmie) of Hutchinson, and Eva Dean of Waelder, Texas; along with many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Jeff Dean; and niece, Lisa Coleman.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2026, at Fairlawn Burial Park, 2401 Carey Blvd., Hutchinson, with Rev. Jimmie Cox officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Friends may sign Jimmie’s memorial book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Reno County Veterans’ Memorial, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
