1953-2026
Kenneth E. Rohlman, “KR”, 72, of Wichita, passed away April 1, 2026—fittingly on a day that appreciated his sense of humor as much as his friends and family did. Born October 8, 1953, in Kingman, Ken lived life with energy, personality, and just the right amount of mischief.
He was the son of Leo Rohlman and Lucy Mueller Rohlman Jenks, both of whom preceded him in death. A devoted son and loyal brother, Ken is survived by his brother, Kevin Jenks of Wichita, Kansas.
Known far and wide as “KR”—and affectionately dubbed “The Mad Hungarian”—he brought enthusiasm wherever he went. He was a passionate sports fan who rarely missed a chance to cheer on the Wichita State Shockers or his beloved St. Louis Cardinals. Whether it was game day or just another Tuesday, KR had a way of turning ordinary moments into memorable stories.
KR will be remembered for his humor, expressing his opinion, and his ability to make people feel like they’d known him forever. He believed life was meant to be enjoyed—and preferably with good company, plenty of laughs, and maybe a little friendly debate about sports.
A celebration of Ken’s life will be held Saturday, May 9, from Noon to 4:00 p.m. at the Garden Plain Senior Center. 1006 N. Main, Garden Plain, KS 67050. Lunch and beverages will be provided.
In true KR fashion, this will be a come-and-go gathering. Dress is casual, stories are encouraged, and laughter is expected.
