Mildred Idora “Millie” Stoughton Maskil, 80, died April 18, 2026, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. She was born April 21, 1945, in Lindsborg, to Don Iral and Ada Mae (Reynolds) Peterson.
Millie graduated from Marquette High School in 1963. She provided in home daycare services for many years in Hutchinson. Millie loved dancing and going to Kanopolis Lake to fish and camp. She enjoyed attending concerts in Branson, MO. Millie also liked to spend time on her back porch and watch the birds. She loved all animals, especially her dogs, Tasha and Lily and cat, Missy.
On May 20, 1963, she married Charles Wayne “Charlie” Stoughton, in Hutchinson. They shared over 24 years of marriage, prior to his death on December 10, 1987. Millie married Terry Lynn Bailey on January 7, 1989, in Derby. They shared over 25 years of marriage, prior to his death on September 13, 2014. On June 1, 2019, she married Daniel Anthony “Dan” Maskil, in Hutchinson. They shared almost seven years of marriage, prior to his death on March 13, 2026.
Millie is survived by: her daughters, Christine (Ben) Unruh of Mineral, VA, and Brenda (Patrick) Rollins-Countryman, of Enid, OK; grandchildren, Jenifer (Josh) Berry, Rebeca (Brandon) Murphy, Camile Unruh, Jacob (Chandler) Stoughton, Kayli (Trent) Oborny, Kaleb Stoughton, John Stoughton, Charles (Dedra) Beetch, Katie (Neph) Parra; great-grandchildren, Braeden & Olivia Berry, Finnegan "Finn" Murphy, Archer Sue, Kaia Leniger, Lonan Beetch, Kinley, Neiko & Kali Parra, Calloway & Corbin Stoughton, Parker Oborny, Rhyder Stoughton, Lincoln Stoughton; and host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husbands; son, Timothy Charles Stoughton; grandson, Tyler Haag; siblings, Jack Peterson, William "Bill" Peterson, Richard "Dick" Peterson, Lila Kindt, Barbara Peterson, Phyllis Strifler, Carol Williams, and Patricia Whitener.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Elliott Mortuary, with Chaplain Don Lind officiating. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
