Boardwalk BBQ is the annual spring fundraiser for the Friends of Tri-Valley Foundation. The event includes a dinner, door prizes, and auctions (silent, stretch, and live). All funds raised during the evening goes to provide quality and affordable housing as well as aid in the delivery of services, such as residential, vocational, life enrichment, and horticultural therapy to individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) residing in the Southeast Kansas counties of Allen, Bourbon, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Neosho, Wilson, and Woodson.
For 2026, Boardwalk BBQ is set for May 1st at the SEK Impact Center located at 1500 W 7th Street in Chanute, KS. Doors open at 5:30 pm.
In 2001, the Foundation saw a need for quality, affordable houses in our communities for our neighbors with I/DD. In just under 26 years, the Foundation is now the proud owner of 15 homes and one duplex in our eight-county service area of Allen, Bourbon, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Neosho, Wilson, and Woodson counties in Southeast Kansas. These sixteen properties are now “home” for 92 of our neighbors with I/DD.
