Rubi Paulina Perez, 14, passed away April 8, 2026, in Great Bend, Kansas. She was born October 13, 2011, in Great Bend, to Raul & Araceli (Gonzalez) Perez.
Rubi was an 8th grade student at Great Bend Middle School. She was a standout student among her peers and teachers, always spreading positivity to anyone she came across. She was an exceptional athlete that excelled at track, volleyball, and basketball. Rubi loved to do make up and enhance her already stunning natural beauty. Her legacy will live on in her sweet demeanor, smile, zest for life, and offering kindness always.
Survivors include her parents; brothers, Mateo Perez, Alberto Perez; grandparents, Humberto and Gloria Gonzalez, Raul Perez, Sr.; Gloria Gonzalez; aunts, Alba Gonzalez and her husband Enrique, Lisa Ivete Corral and her husband Alberto, Humberto Gonzalez; cousins, Vanessa Gonzalez, Abigail Gonzalez, Iker Gonzalez, Valeria Olague, Ximena Gonzalez; and many friends she made. She was preceded in death by grandmother, Maria Perez.
Visitation will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, in Great Bend, Kansas, with Mass of Christian Burial at 4:00 p.m. Family requests, in honor of Rubi, to be in white attire. Memorials may be made out to Rubi Perez Memorial Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
