Game One:
Neosho Panthers picked up a strong 9-3 win over Independence on Thursday, highlighted by huge seven-run third inning that put the game out of reach early. Neosho got on the board in the second inning when Reece Norris doubled to drive in the game’s first run. The Panthers then broke things open in the third. Madison Davison started the rally with an RBI single, Sydney Sapulpa followed with a two-run double and later came around to score on a sacrifice. Delaney Bruhns and Abbi Godfrey each added RBI singles, and Favy Najar capped the inning with an RBI double to complete the scoring surge. On the mound, Kamden Bray earned the win for Neosho, throwing four innings while allowing four hits and three runs, striking out six. The bullpen duo of Pilar Cox and Bridgett Campbell took over from there and shut down Indy the rest of the way to secure the victory. Neosho’s offense stayed active throughout the game, finishing with 11 hits. Najar, Norris, and Godfrey each recorded two hits, while Norris and Sapulpa drove in two runs apiece. The Panthers were aggressive on the bases, swiping five stolen bases, including two from Godfrey, and also showed patience at the plate with five walks. Neosho Panthers continue to build momentum as they prepare to face Indy again in their next matchup.

Game Two:
Neosho Panthers put together a dominant all-around performance in game two, cruising to a 10-0 shutout win over Independence. The Panthers wasted no time setting the tone in the first inning. Pilar Cox drove in the opening run with a single, before Abbi Godfrey launched a two-run homer to center. Sydney Sapulpa followed right behind with another two-run shot to center, giving Neosho an early 5-0 advantage. Neosho continued to apply pressure in the third, adding another run after Brenna Kohlmeier worked a bases-loaded walk to extend the lead. The Panthers then put the game away in the fourth inning, plating four more runs. Sapulpa delivered an RBI single, and Delaney Hill broke it open with a three-run homerun to center. On the mound, Cox was in complete control. The starter tossed five shutout innings, allowing just three hits while striking out eight and walking none to earn the win. At the plate, Neosho stayed productive throughout. Sapulpa led the way with a 2-for-3 performance, while Hill drove in a team-high three runs. The Panthers backed up their pitching with flawless defense, not committing a single error, and Melannie Townes anchoring things with eight plays. From the first inning on, Neosho controlled every phase of the game, showcasing power at the plate, sharp defense, and dominant pitching in a statement win. With the sweep over Indy, this puts Neosho to 2-0 in conference. They’ll look to carry that momentum into their next matchup at Coffeyville on Saturday.
