MCPHERSON, Kan. – Sterling College Cheer finished third out of six teams that competed in the Dog House Classic hosted by McPherson College on Saturday, March 7.
“We had a great performance at the Dog House Classic at McPherson College. The energy and enthusiasm were very high going into the warmup rooms. We had an injury earlier in the week that left us needing to rework parts of our routine. No matter the changes, the team really showed up and showed out,” head coach Whitney Nightingale said.
However, Nightingale noted that she did not feel that the score reflected the team’s performance as they were scored a 63.78 which was five points behind their last competition.
“The 3rd place finish and a very solid performance is what we have decided to focus on rather than focusing on the lackluster scores,” said Nightingale.
The Warriors will take to the mats and look to improve their score heading into the final meet of the season at the KCAC Conference Championships hosted by York University in York, Neb. on Saturday, March 14.
