Allen Community College Shotgun Sports Team traveled to Lonoke, Arkansas this past weekend to compete in the Tri-State Winter Classic. The weekend included a 300-clay event which included American skeet, sporting clays, and singles trap. Allen started the weekend off with singles trap, posting a team score of 400/500. In singles trap, Freshman Jozie Stagg tallied a 88/100, Shaun Mclaughlin 87/100, Weston Cleaver 86/100, Jaryt Hess 81/100, and Sheldon Weber 58/100.
In the afternoon, ACC shot the sporting clays course with a challenging twist that consisted of different target patterns, different station sequences, and a forestry background. The scores from this event included Weston Cleaver with a 86/100, Jozie Stagg 69/100, Jaryt Hess 60, Shaun Mclaughlin 51/100, and Sheldon Weber 45/100 with an overall team score of 311/500.
Sunday morning started with American Skeet, where the Red Devils managed to post the highest score of the weekend with a 402/500. Weston Cleaver led the team with a score of 86/100, Jaryt Hess had an 83/100, Sheldon Weber with a personal best of 79/100, Jozie Stagg with a 79/100 having a personal best score of 22/25 in 1 of her 4 rounds, and Shaun Mclauglin posted a score of 75/100.
During the awards ceremony Jozie Stagg took home third place female trap earning a belt buckle. Weston Cleaver also earned a buckle taking home third place sporting clays male with his 86/100. As a team the Red Devils placed No. 3 spot in the American Skeet.
