Chanute, KS – Head Men’s Soccer Coach Elliot Chadderton is leaving Neosho County Community College to become the Head Women’s Coach at NCAA D2 Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, MO, a move which will allow him to be close to home every day and spend more time with his growing family. Chadderton has been on an incredible run at Neosho. In his 5 years with the Panthers he earned five KJCCC Conference Championship or Co-Championship titles, one with the women’s team in 2023 and 4 straight with the Men’s program 2022-2025. In 2024 the men’s team won the Conference Title, Region 6 Title, Plain’s District Title, and Finished National Runner-up at the NJCAA D2 Men’s Championship. He finished his career with the men’s team falling just 1 game shy of the Semi-Finals at the 2025 NJCAA D2 Men’s Championship. He has Coached Numerous All-American Athletes and several NJCAA Offensive and Defensive players of the year, leaving an incredible mark.
Elliot with outstanding coaching skills and hard work elevated Neosho County Soccer to new heights. The program is now a perennial contender in NJCAA D2 Soccer after he helped build the frame work and oversee the transition to NJCAA D2 competition in his first season. In just 3 seasons he took a women’s team from 2 straight 0 win seasons to a program who earned a Conference Championship with an undefeated regular season and one game shy of making a National Tournament bid. Elliot was a driving force in helping the program to expand and hire a young Coach to separate the Head Coaching duties and give someone an opportunity to take over the Women’s program while still helping mentor and guide the program as an Assistant for two more highly successful seasons. While doing that he also pushed the men’s team to an incredible 35 wins with just 4 losses and 5 ties. Losing only 1 regular season game in the 2 year span (to the reigning National Champion) Elliot undoubtedly elevated Neosho County Soccer to the National stage and has set up the program to see continued success for years to come. The entire School and Administration are very appreciative of Elliot’s time at Neosho and look forward to seeing him succeed as he moves forward in his career and next stage of his life.
Coach Chadderton when asked about the opportunity at Neosho, “I firstly want to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Riann Mullis for giving me my first Head Coaching opportunity and for the unwavering support she has shown me throughout my five seasons. I’m equally thankful for the support from everyone across campus who played a part in our journey. Neosho has been a special place for me, and I truly enjoyed every moment, I will miss it greatly. Most importantly thank you to all of the players who chose to come and play for me at Neosho and helped me achieve things that I could have only dreamed of 5 years ago.”
