IOLA, Kan. (Sept. 26, 2025) — Students who transfer from Allen Community College to Emporia State University continue to excel academically, outperforming their peers from other community colleges across multiple measures of success.
According to Emporia State’s Spring 2025 Community College Academic progress report, Allen students posted a mean term GPA of 3.44, significantly higher than the 3.25 average for all community college transfers and even above the 3.37 average for all ESU undergraduates. Allen students also maintained a higher cumulative GPA of 3.47, compared to 3.31 for all community college transfers and 3.38 for all ESU undergraduates.
In terms of academic standing, 99.48% of Allen students were in good standing at the end of the semester—outpacing the 96.02% of all ESU undergraduates and the 97.66% of all community college transfers. Notably, none of Allen’s students were placed on academic probation, and only one student (0.52%) was required to withdraw, compared to 1.94% probation and 2.04% withdrawal rates among all community college transfers.
Allen students also demonstrated strong performance across a wide range of academic disciplines. In subjects such as Computer Science, English, Elementary Education, Health, Psychology, and Political Science, Allen students consistently earned higher GPAs than both ESU averages and the averages of all community college transfers.
“These results affirm the strength of Allen’s academic foundation and the readiness of our students to thrive at the university level,” said Dr. Lyvier Leffler, President of Allen Community College. “We’re proud to see our students not only succeed but lead among their peers at Emporia State.”
Allen Community College’s commitment to academic excellence and student support continues to prepare graduates for success in their next chapter—whether that’s at a four-year university or in the workforce.
