McPHERSON COUNTY, Kan. — On Saturday McPherson County Sheriff’s Deputies were advised that a motorist passing through the county came across someone driving dangerously, a call that likely averted tragedy.
Deputies were able to locate this driver, and once found, arrested him for DUI. Preliminary tests indicated the driver’s blood alcohol content was more than four times the legal limit.
That motorist may have done the highly intoxicated driver a big favor, as the Sheriff’s Office noted in a Facebook post had he hit and killed someone, a homicide change would have resulted.
Deputies, and their brother and sister officers on the thin blue line, appreciate getting information of things such as this, which the post noted of late not only resulted in finding drunk drivers but also recovery of stolen vehicles, and in some cases just safety checks on really tired or distracted drivers.
