William C. Schooley,75, of Conway Springs, was called to his heavenly home on 10/15/2024 at 6:45 a.m.
William was born in Rome, New York, to Wesley and Bertha Schooley on February 3, 1949, the fourth of five children. Upon graduating in 1968, from Airline High School in Shreveport, Louisiana, he chose to enlist in the United States Air Force after receiving a draft notice. On May 1, 1970, he married the love of his life, Beverly A. Koerner. Shortly after marriage, he was sent to Vietnam and served two tours as a Weapons Mechanic. He then continued to serve his country and after 22 ½ years of service, he retired as a Master Sergeant. He was a lifelong member of the Elmore Lodge #30 in Mountain Home, Idaho. He loved spending time with family at gatherings and holidays. He also enjoyed traveling and camping, playing bingo, and was an avid collector of many things.
He is survived by: his loving wife of 54 years, Beverly; his daughters, Stacy (Lynn) Koch, Jodie (Brian) McCall and Bobbie (Charles) Bever; his siblings, Donna DeVault, Wesley, Jr. “Buzz” (Grace) Schooley and Linda (Wayne) Conroy; his grandchildren, Christopher McCall, Stephanie (Chase) Ekstrom, Cody (Lindsey) McCall, Scott (Cheryl) McCall, Jacob Koch, Brandon Koch, Samantha (Lucas) Mies, Ashton Bever, and Garrett Bever; and his great-grandchildren, Easton Seiler, McKinlee McCall, Brixton McCall, Magnolia Ekstrom and Anakin McCall.
William is preceded in death by: his parents, Wesley and Bertha; his sister Darla Bowman; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson McCall and Riley Ann McCall.
The family will greet friends at a visitation from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., October 21, 2024 at Wulf-Ast Mortuary (911 Biermann, Garden Plain, Kansas 67050). Private family interment with full military burial honors will be held at Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be completed online to benefit the Robert J.
