1950-2024
Dean attended Neodesha High School, his family moved to Greensburg, KS where he graduated in 1969. After graduating high school, Dean was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served in the armed forces for the next 3 years and received his honorable discharge.
After his return from the military, Dean went to work for Kiowa County Hospital, working his way through the ranks and became the Director of Maintenance. On August 22, 1985, in Wichita, KS., Dean married Shirley Barker. Dean and Shirley moved to the State of Washington, where Shirley had received an amazing job offer. Dean at first stayed at home taking care of the children and their home until he retained a job from the State of Washington Parks and Recreation doing landscaping until his retirement at the age of 65. Dean and Shirley have been married for 39 years and she survives at their home.

Dean was preceded in death by Bobby Preble, Jake Preble and Mike Preble.
A memorial service will be held on October 3, 2024, at 10:00 am at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia with inurnment to follow at Fredonia City Cemetery, with military honors. Memorials have been suggested to either the Washington State Parks Foundation or the Fredonia Pound Pals and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
