Robert Dean Boyd II, born on January 15, 1954, to Robert and Maxine (Brown) Boyd, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was 71 years old. Robert, a beloved son, brother, father, and friend, will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A proud 1972 graduate of Humboldt High School, Robert had a diverse career, including serving as a Property Manager. His professional endeavors were marked by his dedication and kindness, traits that endeared him to his colleagues and community. Robert was admired for his talents and the way he presented himself, always making a lasting impression on those around him.

Robert's passions included enjoying the outdoors through golf and engaging in the strategic game of chess, which he eagerly introduced to his son, Robert Boyd III, at a young age. These activities were not just hobbies for Robert; they were reflections of his character and the values he held dear. Spending time with his family brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment spent together with them, reinforcing the importance of family ties. Robert was a member of the Gideons International and also the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.

He is survived by his mother, Maxine Boyd, of Chanute, Kansas; son, Robert Boyd III, of Urbana, Illinois; and siblings, Dale Boyd of Chanute, Kansas, Anthony (Tony) Boyd of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Sandy Turner of Shawnee, Kansas.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert Boyd Sr.; his sister, Candace Boyd; and a nephew, Anthony Turner.

In honor of Robert's life and legacy, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Covenant of Faith Christian Center, 407 North Chestnut, in Iola, Kansas. Robert Dean Boyd II will always be remembered for his kindness, love for his family, and the beautiful moments he created and shared throughout his life.
