Richard Earl Good
1935-2024
Richard Earl Good, 88, of Altoona, KS., passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024. Richard was born on June 18, 1935, in Parsons, KS., the son of Elmer Richard and Elizabeth Hannah (Daum) Good.

After high school, Richard served in the U.S. Army reserves and worked at Good’s Friendly Service. Richard was self employed in several businesses thru the years. He ran Western Glass Service in Parsons, KS from 1962 until 1977 and farmed with his son until 1981. He opened R&R Cycle in 1981 working on Indian and Harley motorcycles at the family farm. In 1983, he opened a shop in Fredonia, and ultimately ended up in Altoona, KS with RNR Cycle. Richard also enjoyed crappie fishing, riding his many Indian motorcycles and enjoyed his passion for hunting for antique Indian motorcycles. Richard was also a member of the AMA (Antique Motorcycle Association) and ABATE District 3.

On September 24, 1965, Richard married Marie Carpenter in Miami, Oklahoma. Richard and Marie were married for 51 years until her death of April 14, 2017. Richard loved his family and visiting with any visitors that came into the cycle shop. He will greatly be missed by the family and numerous friends.

Survivors include:

One son, Rex Good and (Stevie Dwyer) of Grand Lake

One daughter, Natalie Good of Altoona, KS

Six Grandchildren, Eighteen Great Grandchildren and One Great-Great Grandchild.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marie, one brother Don Good and a sister Darlene Ryburn.

Cremation has been requested. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life service on June 22nd, 2024 at the home in Altoona, KS. His Final Ride to Labette Cemetery will be held at a later date.
