Norma LoRee Nickelson, 92, passed away October 31, 2025 at Diversicare of Larned.
Norma was born on January 29, 1933 in Elkhart, Kansas, the daughter of Lawrence and LaVonna (Horner) Fisher. She grew up in the country between Fellsburg and Lewis, Kansas. She attended schools in Fellsburg, Centerview, and Lewis, Kansas, graduating from Lewis High School in 1951.
Norma was united in marriage to Dale Beiser on September 16, 1951, in Lewis. This union was blessed with three children: Vickie, Greg, and Lisa. Norma was always active in her Methodist Church and loved singing in the choir. She was an accomplished cook and loved to entertain friends and family.
Later, Norma was united in marriage to Marion (Nick) Nickelson on December 27, 1991 in Great Bend, Kansas.
Norma was active in farming and lumberyards, always the faithful worker and co-laborer.
Nick and Norma lived in Beloit, Marion, Galva, Canton, and Larned, Kansas, with businesses in lumber and hardware. They also traveled for several years, conducting sales for lumberyards and hardware stores across the United States.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving family includes: Marion, her husband of thirty-four years; a son, Greg (Valorie) Beiser, Lewis; two daughters, Vickie (Guy) Fisher, Des Moines, IA and Lisa (Mick) Gevara, Larned; six grandchildren, Matthew (Janna) Fisher, Daniel Fisher, Chad (Sarah) Beiser, Jill (Jeremy) Reid, Aaron Ward and Seth (Jacy) Gevara; eight great grandchildren; a step-son, Stuart (Helen) Nickelson, Redmond, Washington; two step-daughters, Carolyn Tarcha, St. Louis, Missouri and Desa (Terry) Panning, Ellinwood; nine step-grandchildren, twenty step-great grandchildren and three step-great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Beckwith Mortuary in Larned with Pastor Michael Miller and Pastor Guy Fisher presiding. Visitation will be 9: 00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Beckwith Mortuary. Private family graveside service will be in the Fellsburg Cemetery, Fellsburg, Kansas.
