Margie’s life began on December 25, 1931, in Harrell, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Clark and Media (Rinehart) Thompson. Margie attended school and graduated from Harrell High School in 1949. She was united in marriage to Billy Joe Williams on June 23, 1953, in Harrell. She worked for a time as a machinist in Harrell before the family moved to Kansas. Margie was an avid sports fan, enjoying basketball, softball, baseball, and volleyball. She was a member of the Florence Christian Church. Margie is survived by children Gary (Terry) Williams of Goddard, and Gayla (Will) Soyez of Goddard; grandchildren Carl (Becca) Williams, Elliot J. Soyez, and Samantha (DeAlan) Hicks; great grandchildren Sadie, Lucy, Theodore, SaMiyah and DeMeir. Margie passed away on Tuesday September 10, 2024, in Wichita. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters Juliann and Thelma. Her family will gather with friends on Saturday September 14, 2024, at 3 p.m. in the Christian Church of Florence with a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday September 13, 2024, at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Marion.
