1941-2024
Kenneth P. Staats, 83, passed away November 25, 2024 at St. Catherine Hospital, Dodge City.
He was born July 13, 1941 in Dodge City, the son of Perry B. and Pauline E. Price Staats. A longtime area resident. He was a carpet layer for Vogel Floor Covering in his earlier years and retired as the head carpenter at Fort Dodge after 31 years.
He served in the United States Army from January 1964 and received his honorable discharge at Fort Lewis Washington in January 1966 as a SP4-Engineer. Kenneth loved spending time with his family and many friends.
On September 27, 1974 he married Nancy E. Law in Dodge City. She passed away July 28, 2014.
Survivors include: two sons, Tim (Victoria) Staats, Spearville, Dustin (McKenzie) Staats, Offerle; three daughters, LaDonna Jones, Newton, Michele Staats, Garden City, Megan (Chris) Godwin, Ford; sister, Joann (Gary) Roth, Dodge City; two brothers, Tom (Linda) Staats, Overland Park, Gary Paul Staats, Dodge City; thirteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ray Staats and baby Staats and two sisters-in-law, Opal Staats and Stephanie Staats.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Jetmore Methodist Church with Pastor Maria Grimm presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2024 with family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore with military graveside rites.
