Franklin “Frankie” N. Simon

Franklin “Frankie” Nicholas Simon, of Colwich, Kansas, passed away on June 24, 2024 at the age of 91 years old.

As quoted by the man himself, “They call me the traveler, golfer, and Mr. Fix-it as these are my favorite things to do.”. Frankie was married to Donna Binkley in 1959 and has resided in Colwich most of his life. During his early years, he served in the United States Army dutifully carrying out his assignments. He had a range of interests which came to include flying.  He obtained his pilot’s license and loved to fly whenever he had the time. He also loved hunting wild game in British Columbia, Canada and Billings, Montana.  Frankie had a passion for golf and could be found honing his skills all over the United States and different parts of the world.  It may seem like Frank spent much of his time at play, but hard work wasn’t a foreign concept for this man of many talents.  Frank was the proud co-owner of Simon Dairy Farm for 42 years with his partner and brother Greg Simon. When he was not working on the farm, he was involved with the Federal Land Bank. He resided on the board of directors for twelve years forwarding the progress of multiple land developments in the area. He continued his professional growth by joining as an investor in the Golfland Training Center as well as Cedar Pines Golf Course in Andover. Frank was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colwich, Kansas, and a Fourth Degree Knight.
