Darin Lane ClarkLyons, KS

Darin Lane Clark, 57, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away on November 8, 2024, at his home. He was born November 8, 1967, in Lyons, the son of Galen “Red” Clark and Jalayne (Wolford) Clark. Darin grew up in Lyons and graduated from Lyons High School, with the class of 1986. On May 30, 1987, Darin was united in marriage with Barbara Brown in Lyons, KS. In 1988, Darin and Barbara moved to Hiawatha, KS, where they managed Sonic until moving back to Lyons in 1995, becoming co-owners and operators of the Lyons Sonic until 2021. After the sale of Sonic, Darin worked at Ace Hardware in Lyons as the assistant manager and was co-owner of Brew 56 in Lyons. He was a member of King’s Cross Church in Lyons, where he also served as an elder and was on the prayer team. Darin was the president of the Rice County Council on Aging, member of the Lyons Downtown Alliance, member and past president of the Lyons Chamber of Commerce, and past member of the Lyons Planning Commission. He loved singing karaoke and had a passion for country music and traveling. Darin is survived by his wife, Barb Clark of Lyons, KS; mother, Jalayne Clark of Lyons, KS; son, JC Clark and wife Melanie; granddaughters, Kennedy and Avery all of Fairway, KS; four brothers, Marlin Clark and wife Robin of Lyons, KS, Brent Clark and wife LouAnn of Lyons, KS, Terry Clark and wife Kim of Larned, KS, and Alan Clark of Great Bend, KS; among many nieces and nephews. Darin is preceded in death by his father. Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Celebration Centre, Lyons, with Pastor Caleb Barrows officiating. Memorials may be given to King’s Cross Church, Rice County Council on Aging, or Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
