Carol Ann (Craig) BartonMoundridge, KS

Carol Ann Craig Barton, 75, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away on November 12, 2024. Born in St. Joseph, Missouri, on December 12, 1948, Carol graduated from Horton High School in 1967 and pursued a secretarial program at Atchison Vo-tech. She went on to work as a medical secretary and billing specialist at Hiawatha Family Practice. Spending most of her life in Horton, Kansas, she moved to Moundridge in 2023 to be closer to her family.

On November 13, 1970, Carol married Steve Barton at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Horton, Kansas. Although they later divorced, they shared many years together.

Carol was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved animals, collected antiques, and doted on her granddaughter. Known for her quick wit and compassionate spirit, she brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew her. Carol fondly recalled family trips to Minnesota, where she created cherished memories with her cousins, aunts and uncles, parents, and siblings.

Carol is survived by her son, Guy (Bobbi); her granddaughter, Reese Barton, of Halstead; step-grandsons, Logan McMurry and Justin McMurry of Wichita; and her brothers, Tim Craig and Tom (Sonja) Craig of Horton. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Marcella Schuetz Craig, and her infant brothers, James, Terrance, and Leland Craig.

A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at a later date for close friends and family to honor her memory.
