Beulah Irene Simcox
1934-2025

Beulah Irene Simcox, 90, passed away February 1, 2025 at Hodgeman County Health Center, Jetmore.

She was born August 14, 1934 in Sweetwater, Tx., the daughter of William and Linnie Moore Johnson.

A longtime area resident, living in Colorado and Texas and then moving to Kansas in 1984. She was a bookkeeper.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary serving as Treasurer, and FCE Secretary for many years, all in Hanston. She was active in Christ for the Nations for 2 years and taught Sunday school for many years. She traveled to South Dakota to give clothing, books, and bibles to the Indian Reservations. She loved gardening, canning, and baking. She was a den mother for Cub Scouts and Brownies, taught art classes to many kids in her home and was always the best neighborhood mom when her kids were growing up, always being fun and outgoing. Enjoyed traveling to the mountains and spending time outdoors with her family.

On June 21, 1954 she married Richard Glenn Simcox in Dallas, Tx. He preceded her in death November 22, 2020.

Survivors include: son David (Obdulia) Simcox, DeSoto, TX; two daughters, Candace “Candy” (Michael) Antonelli, Corpus Christi, Tx, Constance San Miguel, Hanston; one sister Mary Tumey, Balch Springs, Tx; sixteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel M Simcox; one brother William E Johnson; two great granddaughters, Olivia and Ella and a son-in-law Santiago San Miguel.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2025 at the First Baptist Church, Hanston with Pastor Rod McMillan presiding. Inurnment will be in the Hanston Cemetery at a later date.
