Betsy Peterson
1959-2024

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Betsy Jane Peterson (Conde) peacefully left us on November 7, 2024, at the age of 65. Her warm smile and contagious laughter will be dearly missed.

Born on June 6, 1959, Betsy became the fourth and final addition to Robert and Denise Conde. She joined as baby sister to Karen, Nancy and Linda, all who were eager to welcome her into the family. As the sisters grew, Betsy was definitely the baby of the family, enjoying the perks of seeing what to do and not to do! Betsy grew up enjoying lake life at Lake Lotawana, Missouri. Fishing, boating and skiing as some of her favorite hobbies.

Betsy graduated from Lee's Summit High School in 1977 and went on to attend the University of Missouri- Columbia. Betsy joined the Chi- Omega Sorority and engaged in fun activities around campus, even once getting to announce B.B. King at a concert.

Once she graduated, Betsy headed west to Colorado with her sister Linda and friends. Once again, enjoying life to its fullest. Cross country skiing and snow shoeing were her favorites. She again was able to make wonderful lifelong friends and ended up living in Colorado for over 17 years. During this time, she got married and had her only child Jenny on January 3, 1990.

Betsy and Jenny moved back to Kansas City in 1998 to be closer to family. Betsy at this time went back to school to become a teacher. Once graduated she started teaching at Blue Ridge Elementary School as a 2nd grade teacher. She loved her students and often enjoyed seeing them later in life as they would go, "are you Ms. Peterson?" This brought her so much joy.

Betsy retired in 2013 and went back to working in restaurants. She loved hosting and really enjoyed seeing everyone who came through the doors.

On her off time, she loved listening to music and going to concerts with friends. She loved playing scrabble and having sister time with Karen and Nancy. Most of all, she loved being a mom and watching Jenny accomplish her dreams.

Betsy will be dearly missed, she was such a light in so many lives.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.feuerbornfuneral.com
