Barbara Ann MacoubriePaoloa, KS

Barbara Ann Macoubrie, 85, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025 in Paola, Kansas.

She was born in Merwin, Missouri on July 15, 1939. She was the only girl among five brothers,
which made her grow up with a strong spirit and a love for the outdoors. She loved Christmas
time; she would spend countless hours decorating every room in her home and she loved
showing it off to her grandchildren. She had many hobbies including gardening, crocheting,
bingo, fishing, reading and collecting trinkets such as eagles. Some of her favorite vacation
spots included Arizona, where she would hunt for treasures, and the beautiful mountains of
Colorado.

She married Raymond Macoubrie in 1961. They lived in Louisburg, Kansas where they raised
seven children together: 2 boys and 5 girls. She worked at a sewing factory then later as a
Licensed Practical Nurse for many years, before settling in at Honeywell until her retirement.
After retirement she worked at the Paola Wal-Mart deli to keep herself busy, before deciding
she was ready to enjoy her retirement. She was a long-standing member of the Fraternal order
of the Eagles in Paola, Kansas. You could often find her cheering on the Chiefs and chatting up
whoever wanted to listen.

Preceded in death by father Clarence Rankin, mother Opal Rankin, daughter Annette Gull and
son Bobby Macoubrie. Brothers Charles, Clifford, Danny and Norman Rankin. Former spouse,
Raymond Macoubrie.

She is survived by daughters Cindy Henry, Cathy Drake, Donna Koechner and Stacy Adams.
Son, Junior Macoubrie (Ruth), Brother Don (Nancy) Rankin, Sister-in-law Betty Rankin,
numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life, with lunch to follow, will be held on Saturday, February 22 nd 2025,11:00
